What is a Central Heating Wiring Centre?
A wiring centre is a plastic box
containing a long electrical connector strip.
The wires going into the wiring centre connect the boiler, hot
water cylinder
and the heating
controls for the central
heating system.
The wiring centre should be in a place which is easily accessible. It is often
found in the
airing cupboard. It should have its own fused electrical isolator nearby and
this should be
clearly labeled
so that the electricity can be easily turned off for maintenance or repair work.
Wires from the wiring centre run
to the electrical supply, cylinder thermostat,
room thermostat,
programmer,
motorized valves, boiler and the central heating pump.
